It has been a delight to pass on the skills and attitudes of craft in a high-level, working environment. Over the years, I have trained over 100 men and women of all ages and places in life. Many have graduated from my full-time, year-long apprenticeship program. Many now contribute their unique talents in their own communities across the country.

For the most part, I try to fold the cost for educating next generations into the overhead of running a studio. However, education makes unique demands on my resources. It requires extra space, more tools, books, and materials. Currently there is need for a somewhat larger studio space which can accommodate more students and workbenches. The land for this has already been set aside and paid for, but I need your contributions to fund & support a larger educational studio. This is a realistic goal I can accomplish for $35,000 - a new studio at the north-end of our hayfield.

If you have found my work and my approach inspiring in some way, please consider partnering with me to educate and train future artists. I believe the skills and ways of seeing that are implicit in these crafts hold a key to human happiness. The way of craft demands a respectful conversation between tradition & progress, between nature and technology. Supporting education in the crafts is a way of quietly promoting a more integral way of thinking about our world.
